7. attempt n. 努力,尝试,企图vt. 企图,试图

[拓展] attempted 未遂的

[联想] make an attempt to do sth. 企图做

fade from memory.

Dust saw the little boy wandering in the street.

[辨异] accomplish通常接task, aim, journey, voyage 等名词,

complete指完成建筑、工程、书籍等,表示“补足缺少的部分”,

如:

This project will be completed next month.

finish侧重指完成日常事务,有时可与complete换用。

(1). = except (for)

19. arise 起来;上升;出现

12. have sth. done

(1).“让别人做某事”,即过去分词所表示的动作由别人完成,而

宾语是动作的承受者或动作对象:I’ll have a new suit made of this

cloth.

(2).“(无意识地)让某人(或某物)遭受不幸”:

He had his handbag stolen.

Peter had his leg broken while playing football.

The natives had their land taken away from them.

[联想] have sb. do sth. (get sb. to do sth.)意为“使(让、请)

某人做某事”,其中作宾补的不带to的不定式只表示发生过某事。如:

The soldiers had the boy stand with his back to his father.
